Day 1 :

Arrival & Preparation in Arusha

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our dedicated Excellent Kilimanjaro team will greet you and provide a comfortable transfer to your hotel in Arusha. After settling in and enjoying a delicious meal, you’ll meet your certified mountain guide and coordinators for a comprehensive pre-trek briefing, ensuring you’re fully prepared for the journey ahead. You'll spend the night relaxing at a comfortable hotel, complete with amenities to help you unwind before your climb.

Day 2 :

Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After a hearty breakfast and final briefing, we’ll transfer you to Londorossi Gate (2,100m) for registration, then proceed to Lemosho Park Gate. Your trek begins with a scenic walk through lush montane forest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree Camp) at 2,780m. Our porters will have your tents ready, and your chef will prepare a delicious dinner.

Day 3 :

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 1

Today’s journey takes you out of the rainforest and into the moorland zone. After an early breakfast, we'll trek from Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp at 3,500m. Along the way, you'll begin to glimpse the majestic Kibo Volcano and trek through a landscape adorned with large shrubs and wildflowers. Our team will have your camp set up, providing a warm welcome and a satisfying meal.

Day 4 :

Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2

After a well-deserved lunch, we then descend 680m to the picturesque Barranco Camp at 3,960m, nestled in a valley beneath the mighty Barranco Wall.

Day 6 :

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

At Karanga Camp (4,035m), you'll enjoy lunch, followed by an afternoon acclimatization hike further up towards Barafu Camp before returning for dinner.

Day 7 :

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (Base Camp for Summit)

Upon arrival, our team will ensure your camp is ready for you to rest and prepare. Your guide will provide a detailed briefing on the summit night, ensuring you're mentally and physically prepared for the challenge ahead.

Day 08 :

Summit Day! Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

This is the moment you've been preparing for! Around midnight, after a warm drink and light snack, we begin our ascent under the stars. The challenging 6-hour trek leads us to Stella Point (5,685m) on the crater rim, often coinciding with a breathtaking sunrise. After a brief rest, we push on for another 2 hours across the snow-covered terrain to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the Roof of Africa! Celebrate your achievement, take photos, then begin the long descent back to Barafu for a short rest. Afterwards, we continue descending to Mweka Camp (3,090m) for a well-deserved dinner and your final night on the mountain.

Day 09 :

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate & Return to Arusha

Our Excellent Kilimanjaro vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Arusha for a hot shower, a delicious lunch, and a well-deserved rest. This evening, we recommend celebrating your incredible accomplishment and showing appreciation to your dedicated climbing crew.
